RoHs Compliance

The European Union Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment ("RoHS") Directive (2002/95/EC), came in to effect on July 1, 2006. The RoHS directive prohibits the sale of electronic equipment containing certain hazardous substances such as lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls ("PBB") and polybrominated diphenylethers ("PBDE") in the European Union.

From 03/01/13 The original RoHS Directive has been replaced in the UK by Directive 2011/65/EU - RoHS 2

Pactrol Controls believe that our products are [currently] not directly subject to the requirements under the RoHS 2 Directive:
We believe that the products are

1. not electrical or electronic equipment (EEE) in terms of the RoHS 2 Directive but rather components and therefore not covered by the scope of the RoHS 2 Directive,

2. They are used in appliances that are currently not classed as being EEE in terms of RoHS 2 as the primary energy source is gas or oil.

Inspite of this exemption Pactrol has been proactive in negating any changes to the RoHS directive that would remove the above exemption and over 95% of our products are now RoHS compliant.
